Very little is known about Spite. What is known is that he had the ability to teleport into and out of shadows, but only when he could not be seen. This apparent limitation on his abilities proved to be less of a hindrance than it might seem, because Spite always operated at night, and every source of light creates shadows.

According to all reports, Spite also moved and worked in complete silence, and specialised in sneak attacks, such as materialising directly behind an enemy and attempting to strangle them.

Spite was most strongly affiliated with The Chaingang, a group of superhuman villains whose members also included Vortex, Torture, Muscle, Incendiary and Paranoia.

Note: Some reports disagree on Spite's gender, most likely because of his (or her) body shape, which was apparently extremely slender and lacked any muscle definition or prominent gender characteristics.

Costume:
A black, featureless costume that enabled him (or her) to more easily blend into the shadows.
