The Observer, 30th May 1965, p.27. Review "From
Monsters to Mannerism," by Kingsley Amis.
"With Harry Harrison's collection ... we return firmly to basics. The
stricken visitor from space, the horrifying toy, the simple, vulnerable
alien race are all familiar as they stand. Here they become freshened, give
rise to a lament for human helplessness, a warning about the perversion of
innocence, an angry but not fanatical polemic against religious
indoctrination. Mr. Harrison achieves this by being interested in what he's
saying; how he said it was secondary. (But I wish he'd work on his
punctuation.)"
