About SHS
SHS was founded sixteen years ago by the late William J. Tyler (right), an engineering genius who was one day contacted by a former superhuman and asked to create a number of gadgets that would enable the superhuman to fight crime. Tyler set about the task with enthusiasm as he had always wanted to be a superhero but sadly was stricken with severe agoraphobia which frequently prevented him from venturing outdoors.
Unfortunately for Tyler, after constructing a number of devices he discovered that the superhuman was, in fact, a villain. He had been using Tyler's devices not to fight crime, but to commit it. Dismayed and feeling betrayed, Tyler decided to form an official, legitimate company in order to ensure that his products never fell into the wrong hands.
SHS flourished for the first few years, and was soon listed as a Fortune 500 company, during which Tyler always played a huge part in the creation and design of the company's products. Sadly, it was this very dedication - and the sudden manifestation of a unprecedented attack of vertigo - that led to his demise during the testing of a prototype open-topped helicopter.
The company, however, has gone from strength to strength in the years since. After the Great Disappearance of all the superhumans over ten years ago (a tragic event that played a major part in putting most of SHS's competitors out of business), the company naturally had to adjust its tactics and broaden its sales-base. Today, SHS is the world's leading supplier of equipment to the superhuman community and the other related communities that have grown in the shadow of the Great Disappearance.
Contrary to recent comments in the press, SHS has never and will never supply equipment to any person or organization who has been convicted of a felony. However, the company is not in a position to check the legal status of every one of its clients, so it is possible that at some time SHS will unknowingly become involved with members of the criminal fraternity. Should this happen, please be assured that it will in no way affect any outstanding orders you may have with the company.
